As the Contracting Supervisor for Pizzo & Associates, Ltd. Doug manages over 100 natural area projects annually ranging from clearing and installation to prescribed fire. He manages and oversees up to 40 employees daily and organizes both personnel and equipment for the efficient execution of the company’s workload. He is also responsible for regular communication with clients and/or project contacts, executing schedules and planned activities for the each project site. Secondary responsibilities include advising project ecologists on natural areas planning and bidding issues, site assessment, and field personnel training.

Doug entered the field of restoration ecology in 1994 and joined Pizzo & Associates in 2009 bringing with him an in depth experience in both the ecological restoration and landscape contracting industries. He has been intimately involved in the design, implementation and management of automated process controls that have improved quality, enhanced client communication, and increased employee effectiveness all while reducing overhead costs.

Doug is currently leading the management team responsible for Pizzo’s largest and most complex project to date: The US Army Corps of Engineers Orland Grassland Restoration. This project covers 1000+ acres and is set for an “on time-under budget” completion in early 2013.
