Nursery Production Internship Spring-Fall
Duties will consist of all aspects of nursery production including: seeding, transplanting, flat filling, watering, order pulling, monitoring plant growth, and scouting for insects and disease. You will get a close look at over 300 native plant species seeing them from seed to maturity. Candidates should be interested in perusing a career in horticulture. This position is from Spring through fall and will consist of 40 hour work weeks and some weekends will be required during peak season. Field Crew
Must live in Chicago city limits.
The Pizzo crew member position is a physically demanding job consisting of plant and seed installation, stewardship, invasive brush and tree clearing, and controlled burning of natural areas and native landscapes. Hours are seasonal and vary including Saturdays and Sundays during peak hours. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and viable transportation to each job site. Please contact Doug Bauer at
Intern Summer-Fall
Duties will include field work on job sites or in the plant nursery, administrative writing, office work, and basic design proponents. Qualified candidates should be enrolled in a program associated with natural resources or design, willing to work outside in the field and in the office, and have viable transportation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a must with knowledge in AutoCAD or Photoshop a plus. Compensation is based on minimum wage. Please contact Doug Bauer at
